With EasyBCD, adding Windows 7/Vista entries, legacy Windows entries, Linux, Mac OS X, BSD, and more to the boot menu is truly a one-click experience. This means the active partition's boot manager will first prompt the user for selection what OS to boot, then load another if necessary, such as GRUB, even a bootloader installed to a logical partition, and then GRUB will load the Linux kernel as it normally would were GRUB installed to the MBR.EasyBCD is the ultimate bootloader modification tool created to give end users complete control over everything from that happens before and during Windows startup.
With the boot flag set on the Windows primary, the Windows Boot Manager can be used to chainload another installed bootloader by employing usage of a program like EasyBCD. EasyBCD has profiles for and officially supports the chainloading of GRUB ( Legacy ), GRUB2, LILO, eLILO, and Wubi ( for Ubuntu ). 
The traditional chainloading method creates an image of the GRUB / LILO bootsector on the local disk and loads this image during boot-time in order to chainload the second bootloader which should already be configured to boot into Linux or BSD.

As of version 2.0, EasyBCD uses a new method for booting into Windows NT / 2000 / XP that does not use NTLDR in order to avoid a two-level boot menu ( the BCD boot menu followed by the NTLDR / BOOT. If you do not have a DVD from MS, then you can install EasyBCD and repair the boot loader. EasyBCD supports booting into WinPE 2.0 + WIM images stored on any local partition by providing the path to the WIM file.Depending on the version of Windows being added in EasyBCD, certain other options may be available.
